What is the cancellation policy at Guidepost DBT?

Periodically, it is necessary to cancel scheduled individual therapy appointments due to sickness, vacation, or other reasons. Our policy for individual therapy is that we require a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours notice in order to cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge. If you need to reschedule with less than twenty-four (24) hours notice, Guidepost DBT will make its best efforts to accommodate your request; however, if rescheduling is not reasonably practicable you will be charged the full session fee.

Skills group sessions are handled differently because it is not feasible to reschedule appointments to accommodate a single participant. Following this, if you miss a skills group session you are still responsible for payment and you are encouraged to schedule an individual make-up session to keep up with the material. Make-up sessions will be billed at the rate of the therapist who provides the make-up session. In order to remain in skills group treatment, you are required to attend individual make-up sessions if you miss more than two sessions in any single skills module (a module is a section of the DBT curriculum). If you miss four consecutive scheduled appointments Guidepost DBT will consider your absence as non-adherence to treatment and therapy will be terminated effective immediately. If you decide to discontinue your participation in skills group therapy, thirty (30) days advance notice must be provided in writing via email to admin@guidepostdbt.com , or by a voicemail (415) 459-5206. You shall remain responsible for payment of all skills group sessions which occur in the thirty (30) days following notification regardless of whether you attend the skills group

On-demand skills coaching (phone coaching) can be cancelled at any time. Your request to discontinue use of the service must be provided in writing via email to admin@guidepostdbt.com, or by a voicemail (our phone number is available at:(415) 459-5206. Your monthly subscription fee will be adjusted within five (5) business days.
