Nancie Jordan, MFT (MFC 48481)
Marriage and Family Therapist intensively trained in DBT, specializing in working with adults, couples and families. I have 10 years of experience running teen, adult and parent DBT groups. I am a level III Gottman trained couples therapist. In my work I incorporate a psychodynamic approach with mindfulness, DBT, and CBT techniques. I am also trained in EMDR an effective trauma based treatment useful in working with individuals with trauma, anxiety and phobias.
I enjoy working with people to help them understand themselves better and to find ways to communicate effectively with others. I teach skills to manage intense emotions and work at reducing avoidance, unproductive habits and self defeating behaviors. I specialize in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, addiction issues and substance abuse.
I particularly enjoy working with:
*twenty and thirty something individuals dealing with relationship issues and learning how to live their lives independently
* couples adjusting to being new parents; parents who need help with parenting skills and parents of adult children trying to improve relationships with their children
* empty nesters or individuals going through life transitions such as divorce, death of a spouse, mid life crisis or those who are going through a career change
