Lori Lavinthal, MFT (MFC39904)
Lori Lavinthal MA, LMFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, providing DBT, and psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, families, and couples. She has 20 years of experience working in mental health and specializes in treating Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders, Trauma, and Interpersonal Problems. She has a particular interest in helping families successfully navigate and grow thru the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood. Lori's approach is informed by her training and interest in DBT, psychodynamic, systems and attachment perspectives. She is warm, thoughtful, engaged and direct, collaborating with clients to create strategies that achieve their goals.
Lori Lavinthal received her BA in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and earned her MA in Psychology from California Institute of Integral studies. In 2003 she became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and maintains her private practice in San Francisco and Corte Madera. She holds a faculty appointment as an assistant clinical professor at UCSF, in the Department of Psychiatry.
