Committing to personal healing is an act of courage and love. As we embrace and engage our own healing, we also participate in healing the world. Laurie believes that every human being is imbued with great purpose and is called to live into this as fully as possible. Her intention as a practitioner of the healing arts is to create a warm, safe and supportive environment where clients can explore and engage their life experiences in a way that is nurturing as well as transformative. She believes that how we relate to ourselves, one another, and the world is essential to the healing process; therefore, your work with her will be rooted in the therapeutic relationship.
Laurie has over six years experience working with clients on an array of life issues. She recieved her masters in clinical social work from Rutgers University and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her pre-doctoral training was completed with the community Center for Health and Wellness in Palo Alto where she worked with a wide range of individuals. Her clinical orientation is towards whole person treatment, and she engages in an array of modalities depending on the needs of her clients, including mindfulness, DBT, psychodynamic, interpersonal, somatic, and transpersonal.
Laurie's past experiences include working with adults, teens, couples and families on challenges related to anxiety, depression, managing emotions, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, intimacy, grief, major life transitions, and spiritual guidance. She believes in a holistic, integral approach to care that includes mind, body and spirit. Her commitment is to helping clients heal and transform, as well as awaken to their purpose and live authentic, meaningful lives.
