Kristin Wolcott Farese
Kristin Wolcott Farese, LCSW (LCS59619)
Kristin Wolcott Farese helps individuals, couples, and families work through crises and life transitions. Her goal is to empower people to effectively navigate life’s biggest challenges. Kristin firmly believes that the relationship between client and therapist should be collaborative; that clients are experts in their own lives and the therapist's role is to facilitate conversations and teach skills that clarify and reflect the client's goals and values. Psychotherapy can be a powerful way to develop self-awareness, compassion, and increased life satisfaction.
In addition to seeing clients at the DBT Center, Kristin facilitates DBT Skills and Process Groups at Marin General Hospital. She’s also trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Mindful Self Compassion, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other trauma-informed approaches to therapy.
Kristin has 24 years of experience as a therapist in health care and private practice settings. She received her MSW from UC Berkeley’s School of Social Welfare in 1997, and completed extensive training in Couples and Family Therapy between 1999 and 2001. Kristin is a certified clinical supervisor for MSW and MFT interns.
